2. Kwaebul Iwoon: Transfer and Raising of the Tangka Painting
There are various types of huge outdoor Kwaebul (Tangka) paintings for a variety of temple rituals, but the most commonly used in Korean Buddhism is the Lotus Sutra Sermon Tangka. The Tangka, featuring the Buddha Sakyamuni, is carried to the ceremonial site and raised. This represents the appearance of the Buddha at the ceremony.
